When you find yourself in an accident, helpless and someone saves you, you see them as a saviour and feel deep gratitude. The same is true in our relationship with God. God created us in His image out of love to be in fellowship with Him. However, when sin entered through Adam and Eve, along with its curses, it caused a separation between us and God. We needed a deliverance from Sin and its consequences, that will lead to be united with God in the eternal life. The process of deliverance from this sin and be united with God is called Salvation.

Why do we need Salvation ?

No one in the world is without sin; everyone has fallen short of God’s glory and sinned in some way. Sin separates us from God, and if we remain in that separation, there are consequences—ultimately, death, without the promise of eternity. Sin leads to spiritual death, which is eternal separation from God, but through salvation, we are restored and receive the gift of eternal life.

[Romans 3:23 NIV] 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

[Romans 6:23 NIV] 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Where can you get this Salvation ?

Salvation is available only through Jesus Christ. The Bible clearly states in Acts 4:10-12 that there is no other name in heaven or on earth through which we can be saved none other than Jesus Christ.

[Acts 4:10-12 NIV] 10 then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. 11 Jesus is " 'the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.' 12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved."

Just as someone rescues us in times of danger in an accident or fire. Jesus is our Savior, delivering us from sin. His very name, Jesus, means “he will save his people from their sins.”

Matthew 1:21 (NIV) She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

How can we know Jesus will save us ?

Many religions believe in a God who saves them, so why should we trust that Jesus is our Savior? Some say He was just a man like us—so how can a human save us? Why not any other god?

The Bible makes it clear in Philippians 2:5-11 that Jesus was not just a man; He was God in human form. God sent His only Son into the world to live as a man, yet He was sinless. He humbled Himself, even to the point of death, and through His resurrection, He conquered death and hell. Because of this, He became the bridge between us and God, offering us salvation thru his work on Cross.

Philippians 2:5-11 (NIV) 5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death-- even death on a cross! 9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Jesus Christ  is our Last Adam (1 Corinthians 15:45) . Since sin entered the world through man, God’s plan for redemption was fulfilled through the death of a man (Jesus Christ). Just as we inherited death through Adam, we receive the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice.

[1 Corinthians 15:21-22 NIV] 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

Essential Truths About Salvation

Faith in Jesus Christ

If you have faith that Jesus Christ is Lord, then there is hope of salvation for all who believe in Him.

Hebrews 11:6 (NIV) And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Romans 8:1-2 (NIV) 1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

Salvation is a free gift for everyone—it is not limited to any one religion or group. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross was for all people, regardless of their background or beliefs. His mission is to save both believers and non-believers from sin.

Salvation comes to those who have faith and confess that Jesus is Lord. Even if we are unfaithful, He remains faithful. He does not turn away from us, but patiently waits for us to come to Him.

2 Timothy 2:11-13 (NIV) 11 Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him; 12 if we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us; 13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.

Good news – The Resurrection of Jesus Christ

No human has ever died to take away another’s sins. When a person dies, they remain dead. Many religions offer animals or birds as sacrifices for sin, but God, out of His great love, gave Himself for us. Jesus died for our sins and rose again, securing our salvation.

Jesus’ death was a one-time sacrifice for all. Through His death and resurrection, we receive the gift of reconciliation with God, made possible by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:9-11 (NIV) 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. 11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

God gives us the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, allowing us to be connected with Him through salvation. Through this, sin no longer has power over us.

Romans 8:11 (NIV) And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.

Through His work on the cross, Jesus broke the barrier that separated us from God.

Ephesians 2:14-16 (NIV): “For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.”

Salvation Through the Blood of Jesus Christ

The only way to be saved from sin is through the shedding of blood. In many religions and in the Old Testament, people offered sacrifices as atonement for their sins.

When Jesus died for our sins, He offered Himself as a perfect, blameless sacrifice. His blood not only secured our salvation, but it also made further sacrifices unnecessary. The blood of Christ alone is enough to bring us salvation.

Hebrews 10:5-14 (NIV) 5 Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; 6 with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased. 7 Then I said, ‘Here I am--it is written about me in the scroll-- I have come to do your will, my God.’ ” 8 First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”--though they were offered in accordance with the law. 9 Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool. 14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

Why did Jesus make this ultimately sacrifice for us?  He shed His blood to reconcile us to God, restoring our relationship with Him.

Romans 5:8-11 (NIV) 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

1 Corinthians 6:11 (NIV) And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Salvation Through the Love of Jesus Christ

Jesus loved us even before we loved Him. He loved us while we were sinners, despite our disobedience. His love for us is meant to bring us righteousness and eternal life.

Titus 3:3-7 (NIV) 3 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

The love he has for us , nothing can separate us from his love. “that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation”

Romans 8:38-39 (NIV) 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The Promise of Salvation: Eternal Life

Death is a destiny that every human being shares—regardless of religion, wealth, or status. It is inevitable. However, through salvation, we have the assurance of eternal life with our Savior Jesus Christ.

[John 3:16 NIV] 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Even in the face of death, we have hope, knowing that our Redeemer lives and that one day we will see Him.

[Job 19:25-27 (NIV)] 25 I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. 26 And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; 27 I myself will see him with my own eyes--I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!

How to Receive this Salvation?

Salvation is a free gift available to everyone, regardless of religion, race, past sins, or location. It is offered to all who seek it.

  1. When a person recognizes the Sins - he / she is into and ask Jesus Christ for a need of salvation, he receives salvation [Romans 3:23 NIV] 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

  2. When a person acknowledges with faith from the heart and soul that Jesus Christ is the Lord and saviour, he receives salvation [John 3:18 NIV] 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

  3. When a person confesses the Sins they are into and asks for forgiveness to Jesus Christ to say forgive me father in your blood and wash me with your precious / blameless blood. The sin and all the bondage of sins of the person will be removed and made to a new person [Acts 3:19 NIV] 19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

Salvation is not just for new believers—it is also for believers of Christ who have drifted away from God’s love and calling. Every believer in Christ needs to receive salvation daily, as we live in a world filled with sin, making it impossible to be completely sin-free on our own.

By receiving salvation each day, we are purified through His blood, growing to become more like Him, refreshed with the characters of Christ and our self-sinful nature gone to become more righteous and truthful in this world. And one day, when we meet Him in eternity, we will receive the reward for our faithfulness and sincerity.
